Bangkok + Hua Hin First Jimui Trip - Chatuchak Market

Hey guys, i am going to blog about the other two night markets that i visited in Bangkok, Chatuchak weekend market and Rot Fai night market. I am going to share about chatuchak market in this post. If you guys want to know more about Rot Fai night market, click this link la for more details.

Chatuchak is a weekend market which means that it only open during Saturday and Sunday from  9am to 6pm while Rot Fai aka train market opening hours is during Thursday to Sunday, 5pm to 1am. 

Chatuchak market is a very popular market where it is a must -visit place if you travel in Bangkok. If you guys plan to visit this market, remember to include Saturday or Sunday in your traveling period or else you will miss it.

Sorry la guys, i didn't take much photo during this trip because hor the weather sipek crazy ler... Very very hottttt, i almost melt like olaf in Frozen, haha. I lost all my shopping mood the moment i reach the market due to the crazy weather and huge size of market.

After reaching the MRT station of the market, you will need to get the free map available from the information kiosk nearby. The map will show all the sections and you can choose the relevant section wisely for your exploration.

One thing to beware of is pick-pocketing. It can happen during the peak hours especially is this huge crowd, so take care and watch out for your belongings. It is recommended that you wear your backpack on the front rather than on your back so you can keep an eye on your belonging.

We departed very early from our backpacker hostel in the morning as it can get very hot and crowded in the afternoon. But still very hot even we reach there early and some of the shop haven't open yet. Upon reaching the market we straight go for our favorite dessert in Thailand which is Sangkaya coconut ice cream!!! Coconut ice-cream is a must in this crazy hot sunny day! XD

We are very lucky to find a stall that sold a delicious coconut ice cream. There are lots of coconut ice cream stall in the market but not all stall selling as good as this! The ice-cream only cost 35 baht and the aunty also gave us a cup of refreshing fresh coconut drink to soothe this crazy heatness.

Chatuchak market has plenty of things to see, do and buy. So do come and experience the bustling environment but remember to wear light yo~~

Transportation Guide:

1. Sit BTS Sukhumvit line Mo Chit station and exit from Exit 1
2. Change line from BTS to MRT and stop at Kampaeng Phet and exit from Exit 2 (prefer this method)

Bangkok + Hua Hin First Jimui Trip - Asiatique The Riverfront Night Market

One of the famous night market in Bkk is Asiatique Riverfront Night Market. There is a riverfront in the name of the market means that the market is nearby the river la~ So you need to sit shuttle boat that takes around 10 minutes in order to reach the market. Asiatique market is different from any other night market la because it has bigger walking space and breezy, not that suffocated, hot and sweaty!

Slurppp!! I miss the food so much! I forgot which restaurant that we entered, i only remember that the shop was full of people and we had to queue up for our table. Turns out the food is really good, no wonder so many people lah.. *licking my finger* But hor the tomyam very very spicy(see the redness of the soup). I always think myself as an expert in eating spicy food *oopss, not bragging myself la hah* but the spiciness of this tomyam really way out of it. I keep on sweating during the whole eating process but SYOKK!!

Ferris wheel - The signature of Asiatique Riverfront night market by Mekhong

This is a game whereby you control the vehicle to turn, move and rotate until you pening gila. Its quite fun seeing the guy playing around with it.

Transportation Guide:

Take the BTS skytrain to Sapan Taksin station using Silom line and exit the station at Exit 2. Go forward and you will see a ticket selling counter but beware the ferry to Asiatique Riverfront is FREE of charge. So please do not queue at the counter as we tourist tends to get confused.

Asiatique own shuttle is found at the left end of the Sathorn Pier Complex. Beware that the shuttle ferry service hours is from 4pm to 11.30pm, don't miss the shuttle or else you have to overnight at there. Haha =p

Bangkok + Hua Hin First Jimui Trip - Platinum Mall Shopping Timee!!!

Hey guys, its shopping time!!! Oh how i miss those moments so much~ Haiz, although its only been 2 months since i went to bkk, but i can't wait to plan another trip to there again!

My bff and i spent a lot of time in Platinum Mall because the mall is quite huge and can you believe it, 我们竟然在Mall里面迷路了, so damn embarrassing!  I guess our 方向感 really sucks. HaHa

There were 5 of us and we were too concentrated in checking out the clothes and somehow we got separated. The mall look like a maze for me because there are many small and narrow hallways full of clothes, all kind of clothes *pening*. You know how my friends got hold of us?? The information desk staff actually made an announcement:"Ms xxx from Malaysia, please come to the information counter at the xx side, your friends are looking for you." 

So paiseh nia, all the people in the mall knew that malaysia people get lost in the mall...hahahha..Gai! But fear not, because there are other people from other country faced the same problem just like us.. i guess we are just 路痴..... So if you guys going in a large group, remember to inform your friends if you wish to stop and checking out the clothes or you may separate into few groups and gather together at a meetup spot.

I like shopping in platinum mall because it has air connnn which is very important to me because i fear hot sooo much. Did i mentioned that the weather in bkk is damnn crazy? The temperature can rise up till 40 degrees. So platinum mall serve as a good hiding spot from the sun and hotness for me.

Well, for the price, i personally don't think its very cheap for some of the clothes. But you may get a cheaper price if you buy more than one because they sell the clothes in wholesale price. You can kongsi buy with other tourist to get a better bargain price.


After shopping around for some time, our stomach growled and its time for foood. If you want to continue shopping after lunch, you can go to the food court upstairs to satisfy your hunger. Seriously the food sold in food court is actually pretty good and is not that expensive too *thumbs up*. The food court using the card system where you need to credit some baht in the card first and pay the food using the card. The remaining baht you may redeem it after that.

Foot Massage Machine

Ohya i almost forget to mention that after an exhausted walk with a tiring leg, you can go for a foot massage provided in the ground floor of the mall ler. How thoughtful they are to provide a self service foot massage machine in the mall and the service only cost 10 baht for 10 min, very worthy and very relaxing. A cheap way to rest those tired feet!!

Direction to Platinum Mall:

i) You can sit BTS to Ratchathewi Station and walk around 10-15 mins to the mall. Along the road you may find lots of food stall that can satisfy your food craving needs.

ii) Another option would be stop at BTS Chit Lom Station. You can find Big C supermarket and Central World Mall around the area.

For me, I take BTS to Ratchathewi BTS Station when going to Platinum Mall and went back to my hostel using the BTS Chit Lom route. This allow me to travel around the Platinum Mall so that i can experience different surrounding environment along the walk. XD

Bangkok + Hua Hin First Jimui Trip - Backpacker Hostel

Its been a long long long time since i have updated the blog, haha, guilty as hell. So i am going to share about my trip to BKK/Bangkok and Huahin during this April, a hot summer season.
The trip is a short gateway, a 6D5N trip. We reached at BKK Don Mueang Airport at night due to the stupid flight delay =.= . We decided to take cab because its already late and is more convenient for us. Well, the cab driver was a young man and he charged us around 750 baht for 3 person and honestly its quite expensive because he did not follow the cab meter rate. But...wth....the driver was nice to us and had good sense of humor. *clap clap* Our cab driver dropped us in front of the backpacker hostel, the Saphaipae hostel. This hostel is soo cool because got lotss of angmooo. Its like you are practically living with angmo. Please ignore my sampatness(craziness) because i have 'thingy' toward angmo..hahaha

*Slap myself* Back to reality, this backpacker hostel is really awesome because its a quite stylish accommodation and very convenient because is near to Surasak BTS station. Besides it also provide breakfast meal together when you book the dorm. I don't know you guys la, but personally i more prefer to have breakfast meal provided because i can save $$, you know, for shopping...hahaha. The only drawback is that they did not provide water and this is the most important thing of all >.<!! They only provide superbbb hot water. However you can buy drinking water from them but i think is better to buy from the 7-11 nearby because its much cheaper.
